Helping Minnesotans Afford Everyday Life
Minnesotans are struggling with the costs of daily life in theface of record inflation and economic uncertainty. While government budgets are flush, the pocketbooks of the average Minnesotans have been hit hard. They’ve had to give up hopes and dreams to pay for gas and groceries because inflation has caused the price of goods to go up in every part of their lives. They deserve real relief and a government that is focused on helping their budget, not growing the size of government.
- Republican leaders fought for permanent tax relief for all Minnesotans. That included lowering income taxes for everyone who pays in – resulting in a typical savings of about $1000 per year for Minnesotans.
- In addition, Republicans passed the full elimination of the tax on Social Security benefits. It’s their money, they deserve to get it back without having it taxed. The elimination of the tax on Social Security would provide an average benefit of $1200 per year. SJ6869, SF3692
